Creator of all beauty, I sit here beside Keuka Lake at the end of a hot day. But now at 7:30 P.M., with the sun setting behind me and a huge volume of cool water just in front of my, I feel the cooling of the air and a kid of freshness settling over me. There is a dampness of slowly evaporating sweat on my body, which you wash away with the cool air that gently rolls down across my right shoulder. You soothe my body just as your Spirit soothes my soul, washing my heart, cooling it, refreshing my spirit.
The swallows dart about above the water over the shoreline, up and down, right and left. As I watch them, gnats and little flies hover in front of my eyes. What abundance these little darting, twittering birds fly through. They must be overflowing in well-nourished health. I welcome them to dart up across my face to feast on the gnats and flies that my steaming, cooling body draws. But they are too afraid, and the abundance away from my is sufficient for them. They don’t need me and my gnats. But I need you, my Lord. Your abundance is more than sufficient for me.

The swallows are too afraid. You are unfamiliar to them and perhaps your unpredictability causes them not to trust you. Likewise, someone who isn’t familiar with the Lord, His mercy, loving kindness, and trustworthiness may be really unsure about approaching Him. But…thankfully He has told us to come boldly to the throne of grace. So, I guess I want to say to that person, “Come and go with me. I want you to meet someone who loves you very much. You may not know Him, but He knows you. :)”. Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” ESV “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”KJV
