Thank you, Heav’nly Father, for this meal,
broken body of your Son our Lord.
Thank you, Holy God, for wine poured out,
blood of Jesus spilled for our foul sins.

Refrain:
Life out of death, hope from despair,
sacrificial cross to throne of grace,
Bread of his flesh, wine of his blood,
God’s caress in sacrament revealed.

Out from here you send us, now, good King,
not as exiles but as messengers,
bearing news of God’s grace-filled embrace
through the willing death of Christ for us.

 Refrain:
Life out of death, hope from despair,
sacrificial cross to throne of grace,
Bread of his flesh, wine of his blood,
God’s caress in sacrament revealed.

Praise we then the Father, Praise the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, Three in One,
in mysterious union, glorious love,
bending to your children from above.

Refrain:
Life out of death, hope from despair,
sacrificial cross to throne of grace,
Bread of his flesh, wine of his blood,
God’s caress in sacrament revealed.
