Sermon #14 — The Doctrine of God, Pt. 5: Male and Female He Created Them

Following on the theme of the previous installment in this series, here I look deeper into the nature of humanity, the image of God, and gender.  As the preaching of this series worked out, I had not been planning on including this topic here in the series.  But after a passing reference to the nature of gender in human nature and in relation to the image of God, a number of listeners insisted that I could not go on without giving more attention to gender in this context.  I suppose I would have been happy to dodge that topic, but it seemed irresponsible and cowardly for me to do that.  So, here’s the result.  Two scripture passages are important in this sermon.  You might want to look at them ahead of time.  First, look at Genesis 2:18-25 (maybe a look at Genesis 1:26-28 would also be good).  Second, in the audio recording of the sermon, I lead the reading of Revelation 19:6-10.  Have a look at that passage also.
